ENJOY FINE FESTIVAL From Friday's Dally Last evening the fall festvial was held at the parlors of the First Meth odist church, sponsored by the Ep worth League of which Irene Simons is president, and participated in by the classes of the Sunday school. The occasion was termed a booth festival and various booths were ar ranged which displayed canned fruits, vegtables, both fre3h and canned, all of which -will be donated ,to the Crbwell Memorial Home at Blair, the Methodist hospital at Omaha and the Mother's Jewels Home at York. The prize of the evening was given for- the most attractive booth and which also contained the largest num ber of donations. The booth awarded the prize was that which was arranged by the classes of Mrs. E. II. Wescott, Edgar Wescott, J. A. Capwell and Mrs. Ade laide Boynton, it being in the form of an Indian wigwam. The girl3 of the class of Mrs. Wescott, in Indian costume, added an attractive touch to the scene. The girls comprised Mary Ann Highfleld, Mary Kathrynj Wiles, Shirley Seiver, Beatrice Arn and . Mary Hughes. The remainder of the evening wa3 spent In games under the direction of Alton Holland, while Superintendent L. S. Devoe appeared with his magi cian act that proved a real treat. C. Ladies Entertainer at Omaha Home Mrs. John W. Gamble Hostess Some Seventeen Plattsmouth Ladies Wednesday. to Dorothy Halsell, 11-year-old bride of T. J. Halsell, 67, is shown back at school in Oklahoma City after a judge had annuled her marriage. In court the child said she was wed without her consent. Probation offi cers said Dorothy's father, J. T. 'Taylor, "traded" her for Halsell's ' u 15-year-old daughter. VISIT IN THE CITY Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Ebinger of Plainview, Nebraska, who have been here visiting with the relatives and old time friends for a few days, de parted Wednesday for their home Mr. and Mrs. Ebir.ger were residents of Plattsmouth for a great many years and very active in'the community and have a large circle of friends in the county. Mr. Ebinger lias been one of the leading hardware dealers in the state for many years. While here Mr. and Mrs. Ebinger were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Wideman. the former a brother of Mrs. Ebinger. WILL HOLD ELECTION Reports from the village of Mur- dock are to the effect that the pro position to vote bonds for a city wa ter system will be presented to the voters again in the near future. The proposition received a majority of the vote at the special election held on November 14th, but lacked the neces sary sixty per cent of the vote to carry the measure. The town board has decided to clve th voters the op portunity to again register their ap proval or disapproval of the city water system. At this election there will be no attempt to revive the matter of the submission of the auestion of the sale of 3. beverage, however. On Wednesday tnere were some seventeen of the members of the Plattsmouth W. R. C. guests of M John W. Gamble at her attractive home in Omaha, the ladies gathering to spend the day in visiting and en joying a fine program. The members of the party motored from this city and with well laden baskets arrived at the Gamble home where the remainder of the day was spent in a most delightful manner. The picnic dinner, served' at the noon hour, was one of the chief fea tures cf tho day and served to open a most delightful social afternoon when the old friends joined in an event that all will long remember. In addition to the Plattsmouth group, a number of former residents now living in Omaha were also guest3, there including Mrs. Charles Tungate, Mrs. W. D. Smith, Mrs. A. N. Sullivan and daughters, Mrs. Asa Snider and Mrs. W. B. Elster.- During the afternoon Mrs. E. H. Wescott and Mrs. Gamble were heard in several vocal solos and duets that added to the charm of the day and were much enjoyed by the entire group. Mrs. Lois Troop of this city gave several of her artistic readings that was a much enjoyed feature of the day. Games and contests filled the re mainder of the day and in- the Bingo contest Mrs. Li. W. Egenberger, Mrs. Snider and Mrs. Wescott were prize winners, while in the guessing con test the prize.? were awarded to Mrs. Tungate and Mrs. Wescott for their skill in identifying the pictures of the relief corps members in the years past. It was a late hour when the aprty returned homeward and feeling very appreciative of the hospitality of Irs. Gamble. Mrs. Harry Beller, who has been here to look after the property In terests of .her mother, Mrs. Frank Elliott, departed Thursday afternoon for her home. Mrs. Beller has been making Iter home at Aurora, Illinois, for the past few years and Mrs. Elliott Is now residing with the daughter..
