Officer David Pickrel, who has
"been suffering from an attack of the
mumps for the past several days, Is
stilt-suffering from the effectaof the
malady. Mr. Pickrel has not rallied
as it was hoped for and ' has been
under constant care both day and
night. He . has run a high temper
ature the greater part of the time and
it has caused a great deal of worry
to the members of the family and the"
attendants.

C. D. Palmer gave a short and in
teresting address on the foundation
of the I. O. O. F. and its history to
the present Cay.
Following the program, refresh
ments were served in the dining room
by the Rebekahs to aid in making a
most pleasant event.
ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICE
B. C. Hyde and daughter, Mrs.
Ella Frazier, were at Glenwood, Iowa,
Saturday; to attend the funeral of
Henry Hyde, a brother of B. C. Hyde.
Mr. Hyde wa3 a former resident of
this city and well known to a large
circle of friends who learn with re
gret of his passing away. Mr. Hyde
was also the father of Mrs. R. B.
Brissey, of Johnson, a former resi
dent of this community for a num
ber of years.
