The Idea was to wear the most outlandish costume possible, and in this the first prize was won by Mrs. Elmer Stoll, who out distanced all competitors in the ladies class and drew first prize. We did not learn what it was. But in the case of the men, David C. West won easily against the array of men and was presented with a new suit of clothes. Ask Dave. Will Have Program Christmas. SPECIAL SESSION TALK Governor Bryan has indicated no intention of calling a special ses sion of the legislature for the pur i se of enacting a law to enable farmers to crib their corn on the farm for warehouse purposes so as to obtain loans on the grain, a meas ure advocated by Mark W. Woods, who is gathering sentiment direct from members of the legislature. Five members expressed a desire for a special session, said the governor, judging from replies that he had . been shown. "My investigation discloses." said Covemor Bryan, that three-fourths of the farmers have no corn to sell and the other one-fourth will be able to market their corn in Nebraska without further legislation. I don't know the percentage of owners of corn who desire to obtain loans on their corn to enable me to judge whether there is justification for a special session of the legislature." Legal and commercial printing of all kinds at the Journal office. STATE TREASURY RECEIPTS Payment of personal taxes, includ ing railroad taxes, is now reflected in receipts of the state treasury.
