Last week the Able Construction Co., of Lincoln to whom was award ed the contract of spreading the gravel on the streets of Alvo appear ed and began the work of transform ing the strets of Alvo into a hard surfaced highway. With the placing of the gravel and its becoming pack ed before winter weath comes Alvo will enjoy the good streets during the coming winter, and which will add greatly to the getting around when the roads would otherwise be ement e and generate enough driving power with in U3 to further any and all such pro jects of social and industrial better ment in the home. The annoyances and inconveniences which we meet and see should sting us, to action as club women and keep us from settling down into a state of stolid satisfac tion with things as they are.
