Hav ing had full warning that he was a weak sister, he did not fortify him-, self, but went into the temptation un prepared for the odds against him. It had been only about a year since he, had proclaimed when asked by the,, Master, Whom do you say, that I, the j Son of God am? he had answered,! "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the' Living God." It will be remembered that Christ had said unto him. "Thou! art Peter, but flesh and blood has not revealed unto thee, but My Father, which is in heaven." With all this warning, Peter went with the Lord to the garden, and with the two brothers v.-.t- trke-n away into th" rarden. while the other eight were left at the entrance. When they) had gotten into the middle of the in closure, Christ said to the three. Christ rebuked Peter for his act, and touching the injured ear healed it. and told him to put the sword up. for he who takes the sword should likewise die by the swerd.
