The beauty of the home was enhanced
by the use of bright and attractive
summer flowers and amid this scene
of beauty the members of the party
spent the time in the fascinations
of bridge. In the playing Miss Jean
Tidball received the first prize while

Last evening at his home on the
Bach farm east of the Burlington
station occurred the death of Frank

known residents of the vicinity of
Rock Bluffs and who has of late
years made his home in this city.
Mr. Grauf has been in poor health
for some time and in the last two
weeks his condition has been gradu

to his relief.
The news of the death of Mr.

OLD TIMER HERE ILL
From Wednesday's Daily
The many Cass county friends of
George Y. Yong, for many years a
leading figure in this county, will re
gret to learn that Mr. Young is now
quite poorly at his home at Alva,
Oklahoma, where he has resided since
leavine Nebraska some twenty years
ago.! Mr. Young has not been in the
best of health in recent years and of
late his illness has become more severe
and has led to his sister, Mrs. C. A.
Troop of this city being called to Alva
to be st his bedside and who on her
arrival there found him somewhat
better but stil far from well and at
his age in a condition that was not
at all pleasing.
Mr. Young was a former county
commissioner of Cass county, repre
senting the second district on the
board of commissioners for several
years and was a very active and lead
ing figure in the political life of the
Community while here. Since remov
ing to Oklahoma Mr. Young has been
a leader in the good roads movement
and hit efforts led to one of the first
permanently marked highways in that
state and which bears his name the
Young highway and through his
efforts the state of Oklahoma now has
a very fine system of intersecting
highways that have attracted the at
tention of the auto travelers from all
parts of the nation.
