Roland Schliehtemeier shipped a carload of cattle from the Murray Ftation to Omaha on last Tuesday. 15. A. Wheeler were shelling and deliver ing corn to the Wilson elevator on been doing some artistic work on last Monday, the shelling being done the home of Dr. G. H. Gilmore which is adding to its beauty. Dr. G. H. Gilmore was a busi ness visitor in Plattsmouth last Tuesday morning, driving over to the county seat in his car. James Wynn of Plattsmouth was a visitor in Murray last Tuesday and was looking after some business matters during his stay here. Carroll Hill who some time since had one of his hands injured while starting a car, is still unable to get much use out of the member. W. E. Ray shelled and deliv ered corn to the leevators in Mur ray, and thought it best to set rid of the cereal while the roads were good and one could not get in the fields. John Fisher and wife with their James R. The ladies of the United Presby terian church of Murray will serve a chicken pie supper on Saturday evening, April 17, at the church. Everybody invited. Frank Mrasek and Herman Reich ter were hauling logs from a num ber of places to the saw mill just across from the James R. Hill place the most of them coming from the C. M. Crisweiser place. Edward Dowler of Weeping Water passed through Murray with a one man maintainer which he was tak ing from Union to Manley where itis to be used on the work of main taining the state roads. Dr. G. L. Taylor the popular vet ernarian was looking after some business in Plattsmouth last Tues day afternoon, as well as procur ing some materials for wiring the new garage of Dr. J. F. Brendel. Mary Dietl and sister, Margaret, with the husband of the latter who make their home in Omaha were guests at the home of the parents of the young ladies on last Sunday, driving down with some friends. Grandmother Hendricks has been very ill during the past week, and while she is some better is still not feeling the best, and is still kept to her bed. She is being cared for by her daughter, Mrs. C. Wheeler, who was at tending school last Tuesday morning when another school boy in a spirit of fun snapped a cap pistol, which makes a blaze and a report, like the crack of a real pistol, and as he had slipped up behind Robert to startle him and snapped the pistol, the blaze cut and burned a scar on his neck, making it very painful. The revival meetings which have been in progress at the Christian church have been drawing good crowds who are intensely interest ed in the preaching of Evangelist Nelson Gardner, but who will the last of the week be compelled to depart for Blanchard, Iowa, where he is to conduct a revival meeting and which is the place wehere his son, Frank Gardner, is to be the new minister. The board of directors of the Farmer's Elevator company of Mur ray held a meeting last Monday and decided on a number of questions of policy in the conduct of their business. The city election at Louisville yesterday was chiefly featured by the submission of the proposition of voting the sum of $:.5,00O for 1h erection of additional school build ings that would permit the school to crae porperly for the pupils and also permit the high school to coin'' up to the requirements of the state department of public instruction as an accredited school. The vote was 1C1 in favor of the bonds and 7 1 against, a 75 per cent majority that will assure the bonds bring carried and the work of enlarging the school commenced. In the selection of the members of the board of education Elmer Sundstrom and Chester Merriam were named as the two members.
