office force in the last few days, Miss
Anna Smetana being the new clerk
who will assist Miss Mary Persinger
in the office work of .the company
which is qu'te large and requires
the work of Robert Walling, the man
ager, in checking up the work and
approving the abstracts as Mr. Wal
ling is the bonded abstractor and in
charge of the affairs of the office.

Last evening the members of the
local council of the Knights of Col
umbus had the pleasure of a visit
paid by Thomas P. Downs of New
Haven, representing the supreme
council of the order, who is visiting
the branches of the order in the
west.
Mr. Downs made a check of tht
books of the council and after his
approval of the work of the local or
ganization they enjoyed a very de
lightful address on the work and
aims of the Knights Columbus in
this country.
A very dainty and most enjoyed
lunch was served at an appropriate
hour that aded to the enjoyment of
all the members of the party in attendance.

There will be a box supper and
program held at the Heil school
house in district No. 88, on Friday
evening January 22nd. Program
starts at 7:30. The public is cordi
ally invited to be present.
