Mrs. Maceney is feeling quite a bit better at this time. The painters from Mynard who did the excellent piece of work on the Prt :;byterian parsonage are do ing some work on the interior of the home of Postmaster and Mrs. W. S. Smith and on last Tuesday morning ind rgo an operation. Mr. Willis was alone and could not make the matter known for some two hours and then when some one came he could not speak very well. However, the physician was called and treated him and he was somewhat relieved, but still is in a very serious condi tion. In the afternoon the two sons, Clarence and Owen, who had been to visit with the fathr up to that time, tame through Murray on their v.ay to Omaha, where they went to see the brother. Wayne Lewis and Mack Churchill, the two Murray barbers, were out 1 fishing last Monday and had but fair I luck, as they used up all their bait j and did not bring any fish home. They however on their return met up with A. H. Graves who despite his ! years had walked during the day ' to King Hill, then to Rock Bluffs, and was on his return getting with in a short distance of Murray. Kennedy Very Sick Prize Winners on Fourtn i The Fourth of July was most en joyably spent by the large crowd which were at the Murray bathing beach last Friday, when the aquatic meet was enjoyed by the large crowd , who were in attendance. In the first race there were two prizes and they , were won by Win. Mrasek and Louis I Todd. The second, a tub race, was won by Tommy Donahue, and was to Ik- a box of White Owls, but as Tom my did not smoke he took confections lin their place. The third race was ;the girls- race and was won by Miss Julia Troop, wno chose a verv beau- titul Greenwood bathing suit which was given by the Murray Mercantile company. The fourth was for the best boy diver and was won by Leon Cansemer. but who was verv "closely Ued by little Joe Richter. The fifth was the giris diving, but there was no entry, it being cold, and so there was no contest. The sixth was for the best man diver and was won bv Curley Reeves. The seventh was an umbrella race and was won by George Troop who got a flashlight. The eighth was a long distance swim ming contest and was won by Charles Galloway who received a Gillette safety razor. At her home in the eastern portion 01 Murray, Mrs. V. A. Kennedy has been very sick for the past few weeks, and ciuring the past week has been quite worse than heretofore. All is being done which can be that is still remains very she showed some improvement on Tuesday morninir. On Tuesday evening both her sons. Charles and Ralph Kennedy, and the latter's wife were down to help care for the patient. Was Quite Badlv Burned Last Saturday the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Green. Dor othy, who was firing off some fire crackers, ignited her dress and before anyone could get to her was all ablare. and the flesh was burned from her waist up until it was blis tered. She was cared for by her physician and in getting along very well though suffering quite badly from the burns.
