She united with the Presby terian church under . the pastorate of Thomas F. Barrier. Mrs. Brls ter's age was 6$. years.. 8 months and 20 days. She leaves besides her hus band and family one sister, four brothers, twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors. She was a loving wife and mother. May 22 1855 and moved with her parents to Cass county, Nebraska. She was married to James A. Brister in 1873 and to this union were born six children. Mrs. Altie Smith. FELT THE COMPACT The effects of the explosion of the dynamite stored in a building at the Murphy stone quarry near Louisville. at about 7:30 Thursday night, reached as far as Glenwood. A num ber of people noticed the comnact on their windows and tried to find the cause. One citizen feared it was his rurnace that had exploded and caused the jar to his house, but it was found all right. From Tuday' Daily The community la and near Un- ion were greatly shocked Sunday by the death of Mrs. George Hathaway, which occurred at the family home near Union, following an illness of some duration which time Mrs. Hathaway has been suffering from a complication of diseases that culmi nated in her death. The deceased lady was one of the most highly es teemed and respected ladies of the community and her death comes as a sad blow to the members of the mem bers of the family and the host of old time friends. Miss Addie Sherwood first saw the light of day October 22, 1853, In the etate of Michigan, and at the age of seven years was brought by her par ents to the new west, they settling in Nebraska and she has since spent her lifetime in this community. At the ape of twenty years years in 1873 Miss Sherwood was married to Mr. George Hathaway here in Cas county and with the husband has been an active figure In the life of the community of Liberty precinct. To this union there were born ten children, three of whom died in in fancy and the surviving children are Charles. Albert Ruben, Loy Hatha way, Mrs. Hattie Eaton. Mrs. Rise Clark and Mrs. Cora Hall, all of whom reside in and near Union. The aged husband also is left to mourn the passing of this splendid lady. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late home east of Union and con ducted by the Rev. William A. Tay lor, a lifelong friend of the family, and the attendance was very large from the many relatives and friends. The interment was at the Mt. Miss Edna Born and Mr. Fred Bartek Quietly Wedded at Council Bluffs Last Thursday. From Tuesday' Dally A very quiet wedding of two of the popular young people of this lo cality occurred at Council .Bluffs on Thurdsay when Miss Ednr. Born waa united in marriage to Mr. Fred Bar tek. The ceremony ,. was witnessed by Mr. and Mrs. Louis Baumgart, the latter a sister of the groom and who motored to the Iowa city with the bridal party. Both the bride and the groom are well known in this portion of Cass county, the bride being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Born, one of the prominent families of the vicinity of Cedar Creek and the groom a son of Mr. and Mrs. Taul Bartek. who have been for a number of years residents of northwest of Plattsmouth.
