son of the two Mexicans who are
still kept at the county jail av.ait

federal immiprut ion authorities to
move them from this city and start
them on the way to Mexico. The
sheriff and county attorney have
:aken the matter up several times
with the federal representatives in
rcpard to having the men removed
:md sent out of the country and each
time they have received assurances
hat there would be something do
ing in a few days but the feV days
have come and pone and still the
guests remain at the expense cf the
county. The men were given a short
jail sentence for petit larceny and
this has expired but the immigration
authorities seem in no hurry to take
the desired action in the matter tha
would relieve the county of their
un welcomed guests. Sheriff Quin
on yesterday took the matter up
with the office of District Attorney
T. S. Allen in t lie hope that the leg
u department might be able to in
fil home life into the deportation
proceedings.

her resignation to the board of edu
cation as a teac-her in the depart

Mrs. Morgan lias accepted a posi
tion in the Omaha public .school sys
tem as supervisor of music and will

remainder of the term. During the

Omaha but so far no definite steps

ties during the rage of the malady
over the nation during the fall and
winter of 191 S. The state authori
ties have announced that the toxin
which was used during the previous
spread of the disease is ineffective
at the present time owing: to the
fact that the phases of the disease
are vastly different.
