Mrs. Chichester came slowly down the stairs, gazing in hcrror at the lit tle bouncing figure. A Peg whirled past tbo newel pot she caught sight of ber aunt. Sbe stopped dead. "What does this mean?" asked Mrs. Chlclu-ster angrily. Feg sank into a chair. Jerry shook bands with Mrs. Chi chester and said: "1 want you to do something that will make the cliild very happy. Will you allow bet to go to a datice at the Assembly rooms tonight?" "Ortainly not," replied Mrs. CM Chester severely. "I could have told ye what she'd say wurrd for wurrd." muttered Feg. "I beg your pardon.,' said Jerry, straightening up. hurt at the old lady's tone. Ebinger of Piainvi-ew, Ne-1 braska, came in yesterday afternoon from his home and visited here with relatives over night, departing this moming for the metropolis to locj-: after some matters of business. T. E. Parmele of Lousviile was here yesterday for a visit with his family, and in the afternoon departed for Omaha to visit - his daughters, Ruth and Mary, who are there attend ing school. Fred Dresson and wife of Ur.adil la, Neb., who were called here to at tend the funeral of the late Mrs. Anna Fisher, remained for a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. G.
