A Large Attendance and a Success in Every Particular The third agricultural and social fair at Nehawka closed today and was a de cided success. Owing to the late frosts the display of fruits was not up to former years, but in other lines it ex ceeded former displays. That of corn was better than that at the state fair. The horse show was particularly fine, and consisted of work, riding and driv ing and fancy blooded horses. Individ ual displays were made by several of the business men, that of F. P. Sheldon being noticable, consisting of some $2,000 worth of bottled and canned goods. He also had three demonstra tors at work making biscuit and coffee, and cooking wheat hearts, a Nebraska product. No fakirs, games of chance nor any gambling device was al.o-.ved on the grounds. No entrance fee was charged for individual exhibits. The whole ex pense of the fair was born by private subscription. There was a very large attendance both days. The Journal can see nb reason why a district fair, com posed of three or four counties cannot be organized at Nehawka. The people of Nehawka and the farming commun ity adjacent have shown much enter prise in the holding of these annual ex hibits, that we believe a district fair could be made a grand success. ' Let the citizens of Nehawka make a move in this direction.it will help build up their town, and not only this, but it will help the counties that will join such a monument.
