The chief of police iave-tiyiited the
mutter thoroughly this moruiu. Jtnd is
convinced Lhat notiiin of the i;ind oc
curred, lie found that the horse was
runninjr on the read when it passed
Mrs. Ktiiiiincklo's. house omo distance
south of tLc top of Winlet'steen iiill,
and that, she distinctly heard a man
say v. ilea and try to stop the horse,
which made; considerable noise. Mr.
Mori is-ey then followed the course of
tlie buLfy and found where it struck a
telephone pole with "''eat foice just a
few rods south of the top of the hill
and pieces cf the buggy wheels were
found near by, while about fifteen feet
further on was where tho body of the
injured man was found. lie had a
watch and some change in his pockets
which were not touched, and the indi
cations are that he tiied as the tesuit
of injuries sustained by being- terown
from the buggy with such furce as to
fracture his skull. The deceased was
a-brother-in-law of J ames Iligiey aud
had no enemies that anyone ever
heard of, so that the theory of foul
play is without any foundation.
