cold and wet weather has hampered
the gathering of the rcmuaut of the

able for the thrashing of grain. The sam
ples of new English wheat that arrived
are generally in bad condition. Damp
'aamles are unsaleable and dry samples

very dull. Foreign wheals very de
piesed. S ipplies large. Arrivals of
Hour heavy. Pacific coast flour does
not appear suited for the London mar
ket. Maze gradually cheapening; mix
ed American on Friday w as quoted at
20s ex-shipment. Cargoes off the
coast are lifeless. Thee were 23 arri
vals and 7 sales, 10 withdrawn and II
remain ou s.-ile. Trade is forward and
ei-rcssed. The sal.-s of English wheat
for the week were 72,844 quarter at 40s
per quarter, agaiust 5,821 quarters at
40s 4d per quarter for the correspond
