Tho County Fair.
Several men are engaged fixing up
the race track at the fair grounds'
putting up rfe-w box stalls, and ar
ranging lliiugs in ship shape gener
ally for the coming exhibition which
bids fair to be the best ever held in
the county; Cass already stands' at'
the head for hue cattle 'and hogs and
it is but right and proper that a
good showing should bo made. Iu
conversing with a party the other
day, who hud actually traveled over
1 he major part of the county, we
were informed that the number of
thoroughbred hogs in this county
wot Id compare favorably with any
county in Illinois, while the cattle
were onlj a little behind. This is a
gratifying condition of things, and
can only be improved upon by peo
ple bi inging their stock to the fair
and comparii:g notes. The most
successful breede-s are alway s the
ones that not only experiment them
selves, but profit by the experiei.ee
of others; and there is tiu better place
in the world to find out the experi
ence of others than in a live county
iair. Let every tanner turn cut and
not only help himseil but assist his
neighbor as well in so doing.
