RAILROAD RIOT.
Boseman, Montana, May 17. The
Sheriff of this county received a tele
gram Tuesday night from Gallatin
City, stating a riot had occurred among
the laborers of the Northern Pacific
reihvay, and that the town was in the
hands of the mob. Shoriff Blackleg
and posse armed at once, and arriving
at Gallatin, surrounded it and com
pelled all to throw up their hands.

Dodge City have been in Topeka since
half past three o'clock this afternoon

illness of juror, George B. Sherifl. no

trial today. Defore the court adjourned
Judge Wylie referred to the crazy law-

grace that the proper authorities had
not taken charge of him. The court
had ordered the bailifi' to exdude him

had threatened to shoot the personnol of
the court. Of course, this threat woidd
have been disregarded had they been
made by a sane person, but as it was,
no one knew what might be acted upon
by the unfortunate man. Adjourned

A banquet to-night at Abner'a sum
mer garden closed Frid ty. About 400
members and citizens of Washington
sat down to well tilled tables. The
garden was beautifully decorated with
downs, evergreens and bunting, and
from the galleries a brilliant a-scm-blage,
largely composed of ladies, over
looked the scene. The full marine
band furnished music for the occasion,
assisted by the gleo club of twenty
singers. The music was of a martial
character, ccnaisting riuciially of
arrangements of soldiers song in the
rebellion. At the principal tables
were seated officers of the society and
