ence committee on the Sabbath obser
vance declares the tanctity of that
day, depreciates Sunday travel and

HOTEL RUINED.
Greenville, Texas, April S.
About two o'clock esterday morning
the Ende house, a three story brick
hotel, fell, burying the inmates be
tween the wiiiis. Fifteen persons are
known to havo been killed. A few
others escaped unhurt. The ruin took
fire and many were roasted in the
flames. Up to 1:30 o'clock five todies
were taken from the ruin, but were
charred bejond recognition. The
building was erected within the past
year and has been for some time con
sidered unsafe, the walls being very
light. The piteous wai's of the im
prisoned and burning victims to
whom no hand could render aiist

day's reunion of the conference of
Latter Daj Saints took place today.
A large number of delegates arrived
this morning. William B. Smith, sur
viving brother of Joseph Smith, held
a prayer meeting at tiyht o'clock, iu
the temple. The conference recon
vened at 10:30. The committee on
credentials made a report that a per
manent organization was now being
effected.
At the afternoon session the follow
ing organization wa3 announced:

president, R M. Ewaii ; sccieuiry,
Herman C. Smith. Ehle:s Joseph
Love and II. X. Hanson of Ltah.
made a report of the progress of work
in the territory. These missionaries
have been working in the heart of the

many to the Latter Day faith. To
morrow's services will consist of
preaching only, by Joseph Smith, El
der "W. Blair, Elder Guiley and others.

port ot the board of agriculture based
on returns from over 700 townships,

pared with April 1st, 18S3:. Wheat 63,
old wheat in producers' bauds 28, old
corn ditto, 32; rye, condition, 69;
barley 66. The wheat outlook is the
most gloomy for eight years in Ohio
