J.- TUESD Y'S ELECTION The contest in nearly all the Nebraska towns was license or no license. In Auburn the anti-license ad vocates were victorious, carrying the city by a majority of 14. Judge McCarty was elected may or over R. M. Gillan. The vote on the question of license was taken direct, both candidates for mayor and most of the council men pledging thsmsclvcs to abide by the vote. ' Brownville went dry. Shubert went dry. Stella voted to continue in partnership with the saloon. Lincoln went wet by a majori ty of 182, but it is understood the saloons will be closed from 7 p. m. until 7 a. m. Humboldt, went wet by one vpte. frails City went dry by 150 ma jority. Beatrice, Wymore, Tecumseh, Syracuse, Blair, Fairmont, Bro ken Bow, Alliance, Dawson, Ed gar, Oxford and Orleans are all dry towns. Red Cloud, Seward, Fairbury. Nebraska City, Dunbar, Geneva, Havelock and North Platte went wet Tuesday. Hastings is tied on the saloon question. Johnson will be the only saloon town .in Nemaha county, and there are hopes that the citizens of that town will refuse longer to engage in the business of making drunkards.
