L. Skrlvscrh of this place has been added to the steadily growing fol lowing that Dodd's Kidney Pills have lu tlds purt of the country. Mr. SkrlvBeth gives two reasons for his faith in the Great American Kid ney Cure. The first Is that they cured his wife and the aecoud is that they cured himself. "I must say," says Mr. Skrivseth, "that Dodd's Kidney Pills are tho best remedy for Kidney Trouble I ever knew. My wife had Kidney Disease for years and she tried all kinds of medicine from doctors but It did not help her any. An advertisement led her to try Dodd's Kidney Pills. The first box helped her so much that she took eight boxes more and now she is cured. "I also took three boxes myself and they made me feel hotter and stronger in every way." Dodd's Kidney rills havo never yet failed to cure any kidney disease from Hackaehc to Rheumatism, Diabetes or 1 Rrlght's Disease. Sale Ten Million Boxes a Year. THE FAMILY'S FAVORITE MEDICINE RISE: AND FALL OF INDIGO. Plant for n Time Sunplnntcd by Pro duct of Petroleum, Modern science has so utilized one of tlio products of the coal firltH as nhnost completely to put an end to tho trading in two articles that once form- Hi a very important part of the com nierce of the United State. The best 3ye for blue was, of course, furnished ay the Indigo phint, and It is even now ascd for the very finest of fabrics, but the chemists and scientists were able to procure from the byproducts of petroleum an aniline dyo which for al most all ordinary purposes turn sup planted Indigo. The natural Indigo dye Doing pushed aside by the commercial Jyo, which Is callable of being chem ically prepared, has practically killed the growing of tho Indigo plant. Sci ence, however, Is bound to protect those who are dependent upon It for a livelihood, so that, when what seems to havo been tho destruction of ono industry through scientific discovery has boon accomplished, the chemists 'immediately produce some now moth- ads that are of commercial ndvanuigo. For Instance, the native dyers in tho east havo discovered that when natu ral indigo and tho commercially pro- pared dye are mixed In equal propor tions, the result or uie mixture gives a more vulunble anil a brighter djo than that which Is afforded by the dyo of the plant, so that, by reason of this discovery, what Beamed to havo been the InovLtablo ruin of Uie Indigo cul lure has been averted. The discovery has greatly oncouraged the growth of tho indigo plant recently and ha saved that artlclo In commerce. In noticing this recent discovery a writer upon scientific subjects has said that the advance of science has novel been shown In a more typical fashion than when, diving Into tho history c. modern chemistry, wo discover tha many products formerly regarded as being capable of formation by planto and animals alone have been success fully made In the laboratory of tho chemists. This latter process Is named in science "synthetical chemUtry." The expression practically Implies that compounds aro built up by the chemist artificially. Synthesis Is thus the op poslto of analysis, the hitter process luring that of taking a product chemi cally to pieces, by way of ascertaining Its new composition.
