Miss Mary McGovorn returned Tues day from a ton days' visit at tho Mc Fadden ranch near Paxton. She re ports a delightful visit. Mrs. Fred Boiler, of Freowator. Ore., has sent to this office a samplo box of the cherries grown on their fruit farm. This fruit is certainly vory fine. The Grand Island Independent says that Harry Rccco is getting along nice ly but will bo compelled to remain at the hospitnl for at least four weeks. Miss Mario VonGoctz also graduated from the same institution. The county commissioners met in Bession Tuesday and then adjourned to meet as a board of equalization. The assessors books, however, wore not completed, and the board adjourned un til June 27th. J. F. Pillion has been awnrded the contract for placing tho heating plant and plumbing in the J. W. Payne resi dence, lie .nan also contracted for a water system in tho new residence of Gus Meyer on tho road leading to the south nvor bridge. Davis & Chorpenning of this city have sold thirty-nino automobiles, about one-hnlf of which have been purchased by North Platte people, the remainder by peoplo living in the country tributary to the city. In ad dition to these, Mr. Davis has sold fourteen carB at Cozad, whore ho main tains a garage and salesroom. In the North Piatto federal court Wednesday the suit of the Union Pacific Railroad company against Lincoln county( wherein tho railroad company sought to enjoin tho county from lay ing out n road along tho outer 100 feet of tho right-of-way claimed by tho railroad, was decided by Judgo Munger in favor of Lincoln county, the court holding that tho suit was prematurely brought and that the Board of County Commissioners had taken no uction. Phelnn, (better known as Rubylloyse) became Mrs. Dan Downs at tho homo of her mother on cast 11th St., Judgo Elder officiating in tho presence of invited gucBts. Tho bridal party entered tho rooms to the strains of n wedding march played by Miss Villa Bergman, Judge Elder leading, followed by Mr. Downs and his best man, Edward Bergman, the bride's maid Miss Borgman. and tho brido on the nrm of her father. Tho bride was prettily gowned nnd carried undo s roRes. The full ring service was used and tho ceremony was a very pretty one. Following this a wedding supper was served.
