One farmer claims that the death of the animals is due to chinch bugs that gather around the stalk mid dying, remain there. The snow storm which began Friday night and continued the greater part ot hatuiiuy was followed by low temperature. Sun day morning the thermometer at the signal oflice registered twenty degrees below zero and yesterday morning eighteen below. The snow drifted badly as it fell.
