When near Archer his attention was arrested by a prolonged series of whistles from the engine. Sup posing there were cattle on the track he went out on the platform on the north side of the car but could see nothin; and thought it rather strange that the engineer should use the whistle in such a violent manner. Upon arriving at Cheyenne he learned that the en gineer and fireman had seen an air ship and that the whistle had been blown to attract the attention of the other trainmen in order that they might catch sight of the aerial vessel. The mail clerk popped his head out of the south door and saw it, and had Conductor Rincker stepped to the south platform in stead of the north he could also have seen it. The engineer de scribed the air-ship as being about fifty feet in length and carried a head-light much brighter and stronger than the one on his en gine. The ship seemed to be trav eling at a very rapid rate of speed and was soon lost to siffht. CUTTING AND PITTING. Mrs. H. L. Walsh will do cutting and fitting at her residence on East Fifth street.
