Roller Skat iag Rinks and Moving Picture Shows; Providing the Method of Collection of such License Occu ' pation Tax; Providing Penalties I for Failure to Pay Same, and Re pealing Section Two of Ordinance No. 196, and all Other Ordinances THE ALLIANCE HERALD, or Tarts of Ordinances in Conflict Herewith. BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor nd! Council of the City of Alliance, Nebraska: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, persons, corporation, or assocation to exercise, carry on or en gage in any of the following occupa tions, trades, or agencies in the City of Alliance without first having pro cured a license therefor from the said City of Alliance, Nebraska. Said li censes shall be Issued by the City Clerk of said City upon the payment to him of the following charges re spectively as a license fee, to-wit: Circus, or circus and menagerie com bined the fee shall be $75.00 per day; for each show in connection with any circus the license fee shall be $10.00! per day: for all other shows or ex-1 hibitions in tents the license fee. shall be $25.00 per day; or $100.00 for seven days; for performances and tricks of legerdemain, rope walking, tumbling or physical exhibitions the license fee shall be $2.00 per day; for merry-fro-rounds, steam or otherwise, and for 11 other and . like perform ances or exhibitions the license fee shall be $5.00 per day; for roller skat ing rinks the license fee shall be $5.00 per day; for moving picture shows the license fee shall be $200.00 per year. Section 2. Such of the licenses hereinbefore prescribed as are direct ed to be issued for one year shall be in effect from May first of one ye.-- to May first of the following year, but if such licenses are issued subsequent to May first of any year, the fee there for shall be assessed in proportion to the number of weeks between the is suance of the license and May first of the following year. Section 3. Upon the failure of any person, association, or corporation to pay any fee provided for in this ordi nance, the city treasurer shall imme diately collect the same by distress and sale of any property belonging to any such person, association or cor poration in the manner provided for the levy and sale upon execution is sued by a justice of the peace, and shall be entitled to such fees as are allowed by statute in case of execu tion and sae of personal property, the costs and fees to be paid out of the property distrained. Section 4. Any person or persons, company, or association who shall vio late any of the provisions of this ordi nance, shall upon conviction be fined in any sum not exceeding $100.00, to gether with the costs of prosecution and shall stand committed to jail untu such fine and costs are-paid, or other wise discharged by law. Section 6. That Section Two of Or dinance No. 196 of the City of Alli ance, Nebraska, entitled "An ordi nance changing the license occupation tax upon moving picture shows and upon, moving 'picture shows in com bination with vaudeville performances, repealing ordinance No. 185 of the City of Alliance, Nebraska, ami amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 135 of the City of Alliance, Nebras ka," and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same hereby are, repealed. Section 6.' This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and pub lication according to law. Passed and approved this 2nd day of May, 1921. R. M.
