The world Is fast coming to know.
Her love, care and sacrifice given
For the sake of her child we believe,
Has taught to mankind the great

"Modern Clothes For Men."
The above little poem on Mother's
day was written by Clarence S. Bruns
and a wondeifull lesson it brings to
s, of her love, care and sacrifice.
We can not but remember how she
tised to scrub our necks, and try her
best to make us look as nice and re
spectable as it was possible for us to
look, and tried to dress us up in our
best bib 'n tucker, for all gala occa
sions, and we 'should try to reason it
out for ourselves that she likes us to
look our best, so I would suggest that
you give us a chance to do our part of
making you look your part.

A MILLION MOTHERS
Youth fades; love droops; the leaves
of friendship fall;
A mother's secret hope outlives them
all.
It is a beautiful tribute to mother
hood that the second Sunday in May
is set aside for religious exercises in
honor of mothers. In all the human
affections there is none so unfailing
as the love of a mother for her chil
dren, and the love of children for their
mother. One writer gives the follow
ing eulogy to his mother:
"Every one else misjudges, misin
terprets; she knows. Her faith saved
me from pessimism; her purity saved
ine from animalism; her love saved me
from atheism."
With the paramount idea of giving
cur customers the lest- of service, and
also to show that we have their in-r
terests near our heart, we are going to
irive with each two dollar purchase
tomorrow (Saturday) carnation to
be worn Sunday in honor of mother.
We are also proud to announce the
arrival of some of the newest oxfords
in the cordovan color, at the most rea
ronable prices that we have had for
a number of years, and in the new
combination lasts that fit the most
feet, in the best manner.
Starting on the first of May we got
cut the first issue of what we are
pleased to call "Laing's Lantern,"
which is to ba issued periodically in the
interests of business and as it's name
implies, is to lead you, as you would
use a lantern to see which way to go,
and to guide you to the place where
you receive the maximum of service
as well as the better quality. If you
missed your copy call us up, and we
thall see to it that one is placed in
Jour hands. "
Do not forget to come in Saturday
The London loologist who says he
can hypnotize lobsters is springing
nothing new. American chorus girls
have done it for years.
Infants just learing to walk were
once known as "toddlers." The term
now describes grownups who have
forgotten how to dance.
When the conversation lags one can
safely start an argument for more
building. . '
