Mrs. Sanders and daughter of Chad ron are visiting at the- Ernest Shoe maker home. Miss Jesson, who ha sbeen working in Denver for the past two months, returned home Saturday. Mrs. Arthur Carrell visited her sis ter, Alta Hucke, who is attending school in Dencer, last week. Mr. Grainger of Denver who travels for a candy company, transacted busi ness in town the last of the week. Mrs. A. J. Gannon and two little daughters, Margery and Dorothy, re turned to their country home Thurs day. The ladies of the town met at the legion rooms last Thursday evening and organized a woman's auxiliary to the Legion. Those who took the teachers' exam ination last Friday were: Evelyn Swanson, Fern Eaton, Blanche Oliver, Bessie Baldwin, and Genevieve Bar rows. Miss Florence Miller entertained her class, the eighth grade, at her home, one mile north of town, Friday eve ning. A good crowd was in. attend ance. Games were played and at a late hour a delicious lunch was served. The guests all departed at a late hour, declaring Miss Florence an excellent hostess and all reported a good time. James Hanley went to Alliance Sat urday and returned Sunday. Mr. Hudson and sister, Mrs. Chase, came down on No. 44 Sunday. Mrs. Ed. House returned home Sat urday from Grand Island, Neb. Mr. Hedges, Burlington water serv ice man, was in our town Friday. Mrs. Hazel Beck Conner returned to her homestead in Wyoming last week. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Berry and daugh ter Grace, drove to Alliance Saturday. Miss Humphrey entertained the la dies kensington club last Thursday af ternoon. Miss Beatrice Westover went to Al liance Saturday to do some Easter shopping. Miss Bertha Tyler spent Easter at the R. A. Westover home in East Lakeside. Rev. Mr. Baker came Sunday and helped out Sunday evening with the services here. Mr. Vanalstine recently purchased fourteen hundred head of cattle of the Lunsford ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cody and son Melvin went to Alliance Friday and returned Sunday. George Lindley and O. E. Black drove up to Alliance Saturday to at tend the. stock sale. R. A. Westover attended the stock sale at Alliance Saturday and made a purchase of some stock. Mrs. W. H. Been went to Alliance Saturday to have dental work done. She returned home Sunday. Mrs. Albert Hudson and children came down from Alliance Saturday to visit at the W. H. Hudson home. Hans Peterson and Will Flagg built themselves a boat recently. They were trying it out Sunday on the big lake. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Kirkpatrick and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Longacre were Alli ance visitors the latter part of the week. Viva Oborn who has been ill at her home in East Lakeside the last few days, is reported better at the time of this writing. Jack Kennedy and son Jean, Mr. Law. Mr. Lancaster and Mr. Young and little Frank Walker were up from Ellsworth Friday evening. Mrs. J. L. Roe and little daughters, Dorothy Mae and Helen Marie, went to Alliance Friday on No. 43. Mr. Roe drove up Friday evening after them in his car. The Easter program at the church Sunday morning was a success and was enjoyed by a good crowd consid ering the size of our little city at the prpsent time. While returning from Alliance Sat urday, R. A. Cook had the misfortune to break one of the wheels on his Ford truck. He ami Ieo Berry went out after the car Sunday afternoon. ThU part of the sand hills was vis ited by a heavy snow which lasted" al most all day Saturday. Some of the telephone wires were blown down by the ha rl wind which accompanied the . snow storm.
