To facilitate this undertak ing a questionnaire has been pre pared covering the different phases of the work in order to classiy re sults from the standpoint of the em ployer as well as the employed. There ts evidently an effort, also, to check up the relative value of the work accomplished by the Bocial agencies. Information is asked concerning the number of ex-service men seek ing employment and the number for whom employment was found during, the past year; the estimated number still out of work and the number of disabled men eligible but not yet ap proved by the federal board for vo cational education. Aside from the need of this Infor mation to complete its annual report, there is evidently a desire on the part of the war department to use this experience in furthering its efforts to re-establish the discharged soldier. Suggestions and recommendations are requested, as well as the prompt co-operation of those In charge of the work. Members of the Red Cross among the ex-service men and others through whom Information is avail able can be of great assistance to the local chapter In complying with the government's request for this report. If you can give the home service bu reau of Alliance any information on ex-service men who are out of work or on men who should apply for compensation because of some dls ease or disability acquired in or ag gravated by their military service, we shall appreciate it very greatly. Call at the court house or 'phone 145. The home service bureau has finally been assigned what it hopes will be permanent headquarters on he first floor.
