The railroad situation Is In better shape than last year, but there will be times when cars will be short, but nothing like last year. Butchers' stock shows a reaction of 25c to BOc from the "low" spot last week, but the shortage of cold 8orge every where, and the fact that the government will not accept the meat of cny "she" stock on Its contracts, will keej these gradeB nt a considerable discount. Southern markets sold ranners last wrek at $3.75 to $4.75. and other cows In proportion, and although the Omaha market had a bad break, present prices are good by compari son. There is a good demand for the fat handy cows and heifers, and all kinds of stork and feeding "she" stock, but we would not be surprised1 to see another reartion lat er on for the general run of cows Stock and feeding rattle are In best demand, and prlres are 75c to $1.50 higher than last Friday. Bowles Omaha houae sold a string of 1100-lb. Wyoming feeders on Tu sday at $14.25 and another one, averaging 1050 lbs. at $13.50. Good to choice sandhill feeders, av. 900 to 1100 lbs. .$11 to 13.00 Fair to coni $9.00 to $11.00 Light stock steers. . . .$8.00 to 10.00 Stork heifers and! cows 6.50 to $&.50 Since Monda the receipts have ben more liberal, and the general trade for fat stock has "slowed'' up again, and with good siaed runs in sight during the season, we will not b? tnrprlsed to see still lower prices l.!rr on. We continue to advise shipping fat steers and good quality feeders when ever they are in proper condition, but would hold back light and thin stock whenever the feed is good. The Bowles people at Omaha are going right to the front, as thiilr long experience, organization and vstem produce the best reaults. We quote: Good to choice heavy fat steers, $13 25 to $15.50. Fair to good $11.25 to $13.00. Good to choice fat rows and h?if rfc, M.CO to $11.00. V iir to good $7.25 to $8.50. "Tanners and cutters $5.50 to .75. Good to choice feeders $11.00 to 114 50.
