lic library announces lhat it will re

friend of the soldiers and sailors,

The communication received by
th library from the Washington
headquarters states that over tiOO,-
000 books have been sent overseas.
The supply is nearly exhausted, and
several hundred thousand more will
be needed soon by the six dispatch
offices which are now shipping books
to France. The books are packed
at these dispatch offices in strong
capes, so built that they serve as a
bookcase.

vessels. Those that go on the decks
of transports are open so that the
men may have reading matter for
use on the voyage. All these books
are gathered together again, how
ever, replaced in the cases and de
