K ALLIANCE AT THE BOTTOM ( t loo tinned from page J ) days a list of all cities In this terri tory showing tag number of men that earh city has furnished in re spouse io the president's call for vol unteers. Through the assistance of com mittees of patriotic citizens will you not obtain the services of a local hand or a fife and drum carps and arrange for patriotic meetings to be held not only in your city but In the smaller towns contiguous to your city. Large numbers of men have been brought to the colors by this means. I believe that this can be accomplished without difficulty and without expense lo the government or to yourself. No appropriation has been made to cover the expense for material or for transportation of group of patriotic men from town to town for this purpose Local committees can undoubtedly arrange for the transportation and the neces sary expenses of these gentlemen who undertake this work. Men between the ages of 18 and 40 are desired Young men under the age of 18 must first obtain the consent of their parents before en listing.
