Zoebel. Mrs. Lulu M. Harper has filed a pe tition by her attorney asking for a decree of divorce from her husband, Howard L. Harper. The grounds up on which the divorce is asked allege-non-support and cruelty. Arrah L. Ilungerford and daughter Miss Gladys Ilungerford, of Crawford were in the city yesterday on busi ness. Mr. Ilungerford Is the head of the Ilungerford Potato Growers' Association during business out of Omaha. The association , is selling five acre tracts of land near Mars land and Berea and other points and contracts with the buyer to farm It for them, giving the buyer a per cent of the crop. On Sunday, March 4, the Wbmou's Choral Club will give a community concert at the Imperial theatre. The program will start at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. There is no admission charge. The Imperial Orchestra will assist with special selections. This will be the second community con cert staged. The one staged two weeks ago was, a great success and was greeted by a packed house. The first concert was under the auspices of the band. According to word received here Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Shields are at Havana, Cuba. It Is understood that they expect to return this week to the states. Mrs. Llndley Ellis left on Sunday for Vancouver, Washington her home She spent a week In this city visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. II. J. Ellis. Adams of Ells worth. There will be Bible study at the City Mission Sunday afternoon. This Is to be an Interdenominational meeting, W. L. McKlllip and D. J. Foley, both of Hemingford, were in town the last of the week. They have leased the Tom Hopkins ranch, some fifteen miles from Hemingford, and intend to farm and raise stock. They have already stocked the ranch. Both Mr. McKlllip and D. J. Foley are from Iowa, the former being recent ly from the Hawkeye state, while the latter has been here about three years. John Shay, conductor, has takeu a thirty-day layoff and is visiting in Chicago. lie had been working out of Ravenna for a number of months. Miss Zola Cole was in the city Thursday enroute to Billings, Mont. She came from King City, Mo., and was on her way to take up her du ties in a department store in Bill ings. The pastor of the Baptist church reports that the Baptist Sunday Bchool has been making satisfactory progress the past year in the special "Keystone Graded System" in tho primary and Junior grades of the Sunday school. "The Relation of Education to the Church" will be the subject of the sermon at the Baptist church Sun day morning at 11 o'clock. Young people'8-servlce will be held at 6:30 in the evening, with preaching as usual, at 7:30. Fred Mollring, secretary of the Alliance National Farm Loan Asso ciation, .Is in receipt of a communi cation from the Federal Farm Loan Board which states that the local as sociation will be one of the first as sociations to be considered when the Omaha land bank Is ready for busi ness. On Tuesday afternoon the funeral of Norman Denny Merrick, two-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Merrick who died Monday evening, was held. Burial was made In Lib bey cemetery. The Merrick family live some thirty-five miles northeast of Alliance, In the Joy neighborhood. A new Bet of buildings are to be built this spring on the J. B. John ston farm.
