Many people who did not get to attend the first perform ance will be at the second. The program was rendered by the Chris tian church choir and the church was packed, every one who attended being well satisfied. The reading for the evening was furnished by Mrs. W. J. Roche. LODGE IS growing Nearly Three Hundred Members in Alliance Castla of the Roy al Highlanders Alliance Castle No. 43. Royal Highlanders, which was organized eighteen years ago, is steadily in creasing in membership. At the present time there are approximately three hundred members, which gives It the largest membership of any lodge In Alliance. The officers and members are now making a strong effort to Increase the membership to (he five hundred mark. A. D. Rodgera Is Illustrious Pro tector and L. II. Highland Is the secretary-treasurer of the lodge. The entertainment committee, who are making. the social features of the lodge very valuable, are T. Percy Rolfson. chairman; C. Louis Griffin. Agnes E. Duncan and Vivian Z. Hol loway. The Washington dance giv en Monday evening at Gadaby hall, the home of the lodge, was Well at tended and a grand success. The waltz prize for the evening was giv en to Will Edwards and Ethel Na tion. This was the second number of the contest which includes three numbers. The first number was won by George Nation and Mrs. Ag nes Duncan. The next number of the contest Is to be held March 4, next Thursday. The grand prize of the contest will be awarded to the best couple out of the three winning prizes. The con test for the grand prize is to be held on St. Patrick's l)Hy, Wdenesday, March 17. F. B. Davis, district, manager for the Royal Highlanders, with head quarters In Alliance, has the good will and friendship of every member of the lodge. He and his estimable wife are highly regarded here. ELKS OPENING FA I It Entertainment Committee Plan to Hold the Fair and (Jala Week Following Easter Sunday The entertainment committee of the Elks are planning to hold the fair and gala week during the week following Easter Sunday. A pay-as-you-enter dance will be held each evening and the balance of the new temple will be occupied by Bale booths. A grand prize of $100 will be given and each night there will be a door prize of $10. The entertainment committee is Ben J. Sallows, chairman, Bruce Mallery, secretary and treasurer, Percy Cogswell, Herbert Butler, Ward Rubendall, Fred Carlson and Chase Feaglns. the wall the nearest to where it should be, and the other placing a fan in a Chinese lady's hand. The first was won by Robert Campbell, and the latter by Stanley Wright. The prizes consisted of loxes of can dy. Many gifts were presented to Raymond. NEW ROOKS AT I.IRRARY Birthday Party Mrs. Cora Lewis gave a birthday party Tuesday evening at her hmoe on Toluca avenue, for her little son, Raymond. This was his tenth birth day, and ten little boys were invited to participate in a six o'clock dinner and spend the evening. The even ing was spent in playing games of all sorts.
