Mrs. B. Mewhlrter and son, Lyle,
left Wednesday morning, Lyle going
to Lincoln and Mrs. Mewhlrter to
Shtnandoah, Iowa, where she will
visit From Iowa Mrs. Mewhlrter
will spend some time In visiting in
Omaha and other points before con
tinuing to Oshkosh, where she will
make her home.
On Thursday, President Hayes and
family spent the day enjoying a
fishing trip and picnic.
Miss Alice Acheson and Miss Anna
Fiedler arrived in Peru the first of
the week and are taking work in
the summer school.
A Tom Thumb wedding was very
successfully given In the Methodist,
church Tuesda) evening under the
auspices of the Ladtei Aid Society.

At our first chapel exercise held
on Wednesday morning, we had the

songs which were greatly enjoyed.
The summer school this year is the
largest in the hlatory of the school,
students coming from all over the
state. Quite a number of students
from the Junior Normal schoolB at
Broken Bow ami North Platte are
attending here this summer.

the eighth grade graduation class of
that place.

The yearly memorial services of
the IOOF lodge No. 168 were held
Sunday afternoon at the lodge room
in the city and at the cemetery. A
