PHILIP THE DEACON Good-sized congregations were pre sent Sunday. At 7:30 the Altar Guild made its corporate communion. At the 11 o’clock Eucharist the sermon topic was ‘‘God the Source and Author of All Things.” Evensong was taken by the lay-reader, Mr. George H W. Bullock, the priest attending the pat ronal festival of St. Barnabas church. Services Sunday at the usual hours. ALLEiV CHAPEL A. M. E. CHURCH O. J. Burckhardt, Pastor. The church work of this congrega tion was up to a high standard Sun day. The Sunday School and League were well attended. Interesting talks on team work were given by Mesdame^ Snell and Clark. At 11 o’clock the Rev. A. Rayford preached a practical and helpful sermon. Class meeting led by Mrs. Sarah Jones followed. At 8 o’clock the pastor gave a timely and instructive meseage on the Christian’s part in the city campaign. Mrs. Fred Divers has been added to the Stew ardess board. The Sir Knights and Daughters of Tabor will have their annual sermon bore next Sunday at 3 o’clock. The rally planned by the Trustees onds on the second Sunday Hi July. ZION BAPTIST CHURCH Dr. \Y. f" Holts, Pastor Last week wa sa busy one and the results were very gratifying to all con cerned. The pastor was assisted throughout the week by Dr. B. L. Scruggs of Jefferson City, Mo. The 34th anniversary of this church was celebrated Sunday, with appropriate papers, etc., with the special sermon by Dr. Scruggs. On the 19th of this month the New Bra Baptist Association and Auxil iaries will convene with this church. Monday and Tuesday, Ministers’ and Deacons’ Union; Wednesday and Thursday, Women’s Work; and Fri day and Saturday, the Association. Regular services Sunday, June 19th.
