Mrs. John Johnson, accompanied by Miss Mary Nelson, went to Kan sas City, Mo., the past week to visit here mother and friends. A message comes from Exelsior Springs, Mo., that Rev. H. H. Jonm who has been there for several weeks on account of his health has recover ed sufficiently to come home this week, and hoping by the "Master's" will to be in his pulpit Sunday The Sunday School of the A. M E Church has announced that they will give their annual picnic Wednesday July 21 Mr. and Mrs Sam McCowan cele brated their 25th anniversary of car rlage on last Friday night at theli home on West H. Young and Jack Oalbreath spent Sunday in Crete. Sunday School was nicely attended at Alt. Zion Baptist Church Sunday. Rev. H. W. Botts preached two inter esting sermons during the day. Atten dance was fair. Rev. I. B. Smith filled the pulpit during the day at the A. M. K. Church Tiie Sunday Schools and Aid Societies held meetings The pastor Rev. H, H. Jones will conduct services next Sun day. Mrs. N. E. Stewart, who is here from Los Angeles, Calif, made a few remarks at the churches, saying that she and her husband, who is a Baptist minister, were preparing to go to Africa as missionaries. This we should be proud of that they are go ing td siierafice their lives to teach those heathen the way to Christ and civilization. Mrs. Stewart will speak at Mt. Zion next Sunday, at which time she will tell her aim. Hear her. The I'topian An Club gave their bazaar and entertainment at Mt. Zion last Thursday night.
