LINCOLN, NEB. Mi. Joseph Allen has just returned from Enid, Oklahoma, where he visit ed his parents. He reports having stopped over at several places enroute. Lawrence Ashford was acidentally shot in the leg the past week. He and a friend in some way, were fumbling with a gun. Ashford is confined in a hospital suffeiing lrom the effects. Mr. and Mrs! Win. Jenquenz, who went to California last December ha\e just returned to Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Jentjuenz became dissatisfied with plans in Los Angeles, thus returning here to remain. The N- A. A. C. I', held a profitable meeting at the Mt Zion Baptist Chuich, Monday night The member ship is steadily Increasing. Rev. A. J. McAllister has returned t„ iji<■ o11\ from general C’onleie-i'iCe. He was assigned to Lincoln for the ensuing year. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Patrick enter tained the Utopian Art Club at their home last Thursday night. A number of members were present. Revival service has closed at the Morning Star Baptist Church. i.iind Boone Concert Company at the McKinley Auditorium Tuesday night, April 26. Rev. Sutton A. Grigg will speak at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Wednesday night, April 27. Mr-. Jessie Beard is yet confined with illness. Mrs. James Shelby i. doing just fine. Service- are especially interesting at Mt. Zion aptist Chuich last Sunday. The pastor, Rev. H. W. Batts preached morning and night. The Sunday school was well attended, and is making prep aration to entertain the State Sunday Schoo! Convention, May 17-23. Service- at the A. M. E. Church were conducted by the pastor, Rev. H. H. Jone.~, who preached morning and night The Sunday School and Chris tian Endeavor were well attended by young folks. The A. M. E. choir are arranging to give a series of concerts around Lit!r coin soon. They were to be at Emer ald last Friday night, but stormy weather prevented them. SIOUX CITY, IOWA The Willing Workers, Mrs. E. J. Curtis, president, met at the home of Mrs. Henry Robinson on 7th street on last Tuesday. The Ladies' Aid met at the parsonage with Mrs. P. M. Lewis. Sunday, the 24th,'the trustees of Malone A. M. E. Church will hold a rally, folowed on the 28th with an en tertainment in the chuich parlors. They plan to raise three hundred dol lars. The Odd Fellows and the Household of Ruth will hold their Thanksgiving services- Sunday, May 8, at Malone V. M. E. Church. Mrs. Mollie Caseon who has been ai the bed-side of her sister, Mrs. C F. Williams, for the past two week. was called to her home in Minneapolis by the iilness of Mr. Caseon. Mr. C. F. Williams has instated : tire repair establishment at his Carp' and Rug Factory, 704 W. 7th St. Mr. Roberts of Sioux Falls, S. D. was the guest of Mr. Man-field Askew last week. Mr. Joseph Norris has opened cafe at 511 W. 7th St. Mrs. Horten.-e Maxey has returnee from visiting her husband at Grea' Falls, Montana. Dr. Norris the A. M. E. Pastor a! Yankton and Huron, S. D., together with his wife was a visitor in our city a few days last week. The many friends of Rev. James Washington formerly of this city, now P. E. of the Los Angeles District will be pleased to learn that he is nov able to walk after a very1 severe illness. -g- .— SWASTIKA RACKET CLUB ELECTS OFF1UFKS. The Swastika Racket Club met at the home of Mrs. S. K. Brownlow last Monday for the purpose of electing of ficers for the following year. Miss Rae Lee Midleton was re-elected pres ident by an overwhelming majority. Mrs, S. K. Brownlow was also re-elect ed treasurer. The following who will serve their first terms as officers ol the club are Frank Blackwell, vice president; Mrs. M. H. Randall, secre tary; Miss Otis Watson, assistant sec retary; Joseph La C’our, reporter, The next meeting of the club wtu be held Monday, May 2, at the Y. W. C. A. MT. MORIAH BAPTIST CHURCH.. TWENTY-FOURTH AND OHIO STREETS. Services were well attended Sun day. Tlie Rev. O. E. Kelly of S'^ux City, la., delivered an excellent ser mon. He will preach again Friday night. An all-week rally will begin Mon day night, April 24, during which time the different pastors and congre gations of the city will take part. The Swastika art and sewing c’ub will give an All-Nation social at the church next Thurcday night, April 28. The Sunshine Missionary circle met at tht home of L. B. McQueen lest Thursday and their next meeting will be at the home of Mis. G. W. Hibbler, Seventeenth and Jackson streets. “ 1' Rev. H. R.
